President returns to Male’ after G. A. Atoll tour

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim have returned to Male’ City upon conclusion of their tour of G. A. Atoll.

They returned to Male’ City this Wednesday morning.

President Yameen, during the tour, visited the islands of Kooddoo, Kolamaafushi and Villingili.

He inaugurated the Koodoo Airport – which was re-opened as a category 3C airport, with its runway extended from 1,200 meters to 1,800 meters.

The President also inaugurated Mercure Hotels Maldives Kooddoo; the first airport resort hotel in Maldives. Mercure Hotels was developed by Pristine Island Investment Private Limited with 68 villas.

He also inaugurated Masjid Al-Ikhlaas – constructed under the grant aid of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia in G. A. Vilingili.

He and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim also met with citizens from the islands of Kolamaafushi and Vilingili.
