Loss from Bilehfai Powerhouse fire valued at MVR 2.27M

Loss from the fire at the Sh. Bilehfai Powerhouse is estimated at MVR 2.27 million, reports Fenaka Corporation.

The fire on Saturday night had been widespread and burned the entire Powerhouse beyond repair.

Fenaka Corporation reports it was in the middle of assessing the total damage, and that it was expected to reach over MVR 2.27 million.

Power was restored to Bilehfahi one day after the fire, last Sunday, with a temporary setup using a 120-kilowatt generator and panel board from Sh. Feydhoo.

The 1.9-kilometer long, 600-meter wide island of Bilehfahi has a population of approximately 600 people.
