Pakistan national arrested for smuggling drugs into Maldives

A Pakistan national who smuggled drugs into the Maldives has been arrested.

Maldives Customs Service said that they seized drugs from a 31-year-old man who arrived in the Maldives from Pakistan on Thursday.

The man was caught after the Customs Passenger Clearance Officers suspected of his behavior and searched him. And so the officers found drugs stored inside three wheels of his trolley bag.

Customs said that the seized drugs weighing 640 grams has tested positive for heroin.

The custody of the man and the drugs have now been handed over to the Maldives Police Service according to Customs.
