Minister of Environment and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim has left New York to represent the Maldives in the 72nd UN General Assembly.
The Minister would also be taking part in the Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action Montreal, Canada,; a preliminary meeting for the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, set for November.
Minister Thoriq will be meeting with the high ranking officials of the delegations from other small countries in the Climate Week and discuss the targets for the UN Convention on Climate Change.
He would also take part in the discussions for the Initiative for Renewable Island Energy, a project led by the Maldives with the International Renewable Energy Agency.
