Public Service Media (PSM) has made the payment of a defamation fine after for airing defamatory content against the former Home Minister, Umaru Naseer.
THe company was fine MVR 200,000 for airing content on which the MP for Inguraidhoo constituency, Ibrahim Falaah spoke slanderous of the former Home Minister.
Broadcasting Commission said that PSM made the fine payment today.
The report from the Broadcasting Commission following investigation said that PSM confessed to airing the slanderous content without interruption, in full.
In the case filed by Umaru Naseer against Channel 13 and TVM said that MP Ibrahim Falaah had slandered him at a PPM event and TVM and Channel 13 had broadcasting the event live with audio.
The Broadcasting Commission has yet to make a decision regarding Channel 13.
