Criminal Court seeks two more judges

After announcing that the Criminal Court wants two more judges, they have announced that they need another two judges to the court.

An announcement made by the Judicial Service Commission said that the number of judges sought for the Criminal Court has gone up from two to four.

The announcement said that applicants must have the first degree in Shariah Law and Islamic Shariah with two years experience as a judge or a lawyer.

Judicial Service announcement said that a judge will be paid MVR 48,000 which includes the basic salary and allowances.

While Criminal Court has announced that they are seeking more judges, the court suspended it's judge, Ahmed Rasheed last week.

The details of his suspension is not clear at this time.
