A group of men forcefully boarded a safari docked in K. Guraidhoo and instigated a brawl.
The incident took place last Saturday evening.
A crew member of the safari reported that a group of people called the captain of the safari on Saturday and asked him to supply them with a bottle of liquor. He said the group of three men then attempted to forcefully board the safari on a dinghy after the captain refused.
A brawl erupted when the crew of the safari attempted to stop the men from boarding the safari.
An eyewitness reported that some of the crew members were attacked in the scuffle.
The crew member who spoke to “Sun” reported that a large number of tourists had been onboard the safari when the incident took place. And that they were visibly shaken due to the incident.
Police media official reported that the incident was under investigation by the authority, and that two arrests have been made in connection with the case.
