Two children injured after tree fall in Foakaidhoo

Two children have been injured in Shaviyani atoll Foakaidhoo after a tree fell on them while it was being cut down.

A man from the island said that two children sustained serious injuries after a tree well on them which was it was tied with a rope after cutting off most of it.

One child had his foot broken which the other suffered a broken femur, the bone from the pelvic bone to the knee.

He said that the two children are being treated at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital at the moment.

The two children, both close to the age of ten, have been advised to be brought to the capital for further treatment and so the effort is underway to make the transfer.
