Concrete work of the new IGMH complex completed

The concrete works of the new 25 story complex of the main state hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has been completed.

The new hospital building was contracted to Singapore's Shenhu company in March 2016. The project worth USD 140 million (MVR 2.1 billion) is to be completed next year.

Director of Public Relations and Media at IGMH, Ahmed Mausoom told Sun Media today that the concrete work of the new 25 story complex and the interior work has begun.

And so while water, electricity and fire safety measures have been completed on 19 floors, 60 percent of the total works have been completed.

Upon completion, the new complex to IGMH named "Dharumavantha Hospital" would come a modern specialist hospital with 500 beds with six floors reserved for the National Diagnostic Facility with all consultations and testing moved from the old complex.

The new complex would include a gym, a rehabilitation suite along with a Thailand Care Center, IGMH has previously said that five floors would be reserved for private accommodation for patients.
