Body of “hanged” 11-year-old transported to Male’ for investigation

The body of the 11-year-old found hanging in N. Maalhendhoo has been transported to Male’ City for investigation.

Police confirmed the reports, and said the body of the 11-year-old was brought to Male’ City this Wednesday morning, and that it has been taken to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for tests.

Police disclosed no further information.

The 11-year-old was found hanging at 2:15 pm yesterday.

Ministry of Gender and Family issued a statement following the death. It said no case involving the minor was submitted to either the ministry, or N. Atoll Family and Children Service Center.
