Sun Online selected as Local Online Partner for SAYS

Sun Online has been selected as the Local Online Partner for the 1st South Asian Youth Summit (SAYS) – scheduled to be held in India in September.

Sun Media Group and International Youth Committee (IYC) – organizers of the SAYS – signed the partnership agreement during the closing ceremony of the Pre-Summit Youth Meeting at Champa Central Hotel last Tuesday night.

The partnership agreement was signed by Chief Operating Officer of Sun Media Group, Minha Faiz and Chairperson of IYC, Dr. K. K. Singh.

Speaking to “Sun” after the signing, Minha Faiz said Sun Online being selected as the online partner for an international summit was a huge honor for Sun Media Group. She said Sun Online will be publishing up-to-date news on the summit both in Dhivehi and English.

She also thanked Regional Alliance for Fostering Youth (RAFY) and IYC for the opportunity.

Public Service Media (PSM) is the Local TV Partner and RAFY is the exclusive NGO representing Maldives in the summit.

SAYS will be held in Bhubaneswar City of India from September 17 to 20. It will provide a platform for the youth of South East Asian countries to get together and discuss mutual issues in the hope of generating solutions.

The summit also serves as a means to resolve the challenges at policy level and empower the youth and youth organizations, and increase the role of the youth in achieving the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.

40 Maldivian youth will be taking part in SAYS through RAFY and JCI Maldives.
