Riko Moosa: There are two factions within MDP, it will be revealed soon

Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Moosa Manik (Riko) has said that there are two factions within the opposition party, MDP as well.

Speaking on "Siyaasee Veshi" politics program on Sun TV's Independence Day coverage, "Minivankamuge Hiyalugaa" (In the shade of independence), Moosa described the former President Mohamed Nasheed as the founder of MDP.

Moosa said that he describes a portion of MDP as the Founder's faction because there are two factions within the party and they will reveal themselves soon.

Noting the complaints from the opposition regarding the police obstructions at their rallies, Moosa said that it is not something that has been happening only today and the police have always tried to stop protest rallies.

"We are the one who held the most protest rallies, non stop. When President Waheed took power after President Nasheed resigned, for two years, starting from Usfasgandu." Moosa said.

He also advised the participants of the rallies saying that he too was beaten in a rally and had treated for broken bones. Moosa said that he had been careful in protests since then.

The Deputy Speaker said that the police will not look out for the protesters individually and would focus on dispersing the rallies.
