SanguTV reporter under criminal investigation

One of the seven reporters arrested by the police on Wednesday night is under criminal investigation.

The seven reporters from RajjeTV and SanguTV were covering the opposition protest at MDP Haruge when they were arrested by police for obstruction.

They were released from detention after approximately two hours.

One of the reporters, a video journalist from SanguTV – Abdulla Yameen – has been served summons to present himself at police headquarters at 5 pm on Friday.

There are no reports any of the other reporters have been sent summons.
