A search has been initiated for a teenage girl has gone missing since midnight last night. The missing is 15-year-old Fathimath Shaina Ahmed studying in Grade 10 at Rehendhi School.
Maldives Police Service has confrimed that the girl is missing and a seatch is ongoing.
Talking to Sun Media, the father of the missing girl, Ahmed Saleem said that Shaina lives with her mother in Hulhumalé and that she came to Malé City yesterday, stayed with a friend and was last seen leaving to go to the toilet.
He said that the house is a frequented by the girl and she left saying that she'd be back after going to the toilet.
"Searched the area last night (midnight) as well before reporting to the police." Saleem, the father of the missing girl said.
The father of the 15-year-old said that Shaina is a well-behaved girl and has not runaway before. She was last seen wearing a blue top and wore a black "burugaa" (local version of hijab).
Saleem said that a man called and said that Shaina was seen in Hulhumalé around 5:30 p.m. today.
He has now shared the picture of Shaina on social media with a reward of MVR 5,000 for finding the missing 15-year-old.
