HRCM: Current events are being observed closely

Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has said that they are closely observing the events unfolding in the country.

In a statement issued today, HRCM said that there is talk spreading among the people that imply that the authorities instilled to implement the Islamic Democratic Constitution have different opinions on implementing the laws.

And it is opening a path that could violate the rights of the people which the HRCM is concerned about according to their statement.

The HRCM statement advised all to respect the laws and keep their actions in such a way that it would not cause civil unrest.
