Shaafiu, arrested in connection with bribing MPs, released

Jumhooree Party activist, Ahmed Shaafiu, who was arrested in connection with active involved in bribing MPs have been released.

Shaafiu was released today when he was taken to the court for his remand hearing.

His legal representation, Ali Zahir said that his client was released by the Criminal Court because no further evidence was presented against him.

The initial arrest was on the night of 3 July 2017 near the Jumhooree Party head office at Maafannu Kunooz.
