Dominican Republic tugboat caught in bad weather docks at Uligam

A tugboat travelling in international waters near Maldives has docked to the east of H. A. Uligam after getting caught in bad weather.

Information officer at Maldives National Defense Force, Ibrahim Azim reported to “Sun” this Saturday that the tugboat docked at Uligam at approximately 3 pm, last Friday.

The tugboat “Golden Pride” is from Dominican Republic, and is travelling with 25 people.

The tugboat – operated by an Indian company – docked at Uligam after gaining permission from Maldivian government after it requested emergency assistance due to bad weather.

MNDF reports the tugboat was travelling outside the A Degree Channel when it caught in the bad weather, and that it will depart to its destination as soon as the weather clears up.
