FAM election postponed amid unrest

The election of FAM has been postponed following unrest at the ballot box at Youth Centre today.

The case heated up following a Court ruling yesterday that United Victory cannot contest in the election.

Heated arguments took place between supporters of candidates Ilham and Azim. Supporters also protested outside the Youth Centre.

As the situation worsened, the plastic ballot box was kicked by Ilham, and broken.

Security Officials of Muscle Load attempted to calm the unrest without much success, and Police arrived at the scene at around 09:00.

The election was first postponed until 10:00 today; however, at around 10:30, FAM President proclaimed that a new date will be announced for the election.

The events were monitored by officials of FIFA and AFC, who also agreed that the situation was not conducive to proceed with the election.
