Ibrahimovic on verge of completing PSG move

MILAN (AP) — AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reached a deal to join Paris Saint-Germain and is set to be unveiled as the big-spending French club's latest star on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic's agent, Mino Raiola, has been in talks with PSG for several days and said Tuesday he has finally reached an agreement.

Raiola told Swedish news agency TT that "it's a deal. I can confirm that."

Reports said Ibrahimovic flew to Paris and will have a medical exam on Wednesday morning. PSG has called a news conference for 3 p.m. local time (1300 GMT) Wednesday.

"We have reached an agreement with Ibrahimovic and his agent," PSG sporting director Leonardo said. "He will have his medical and then we hope everything will go well with signing the contract.

"It's a great year for Paris Saint-Germain. It's an enormous thing to attract a player of this caliber. It's true that he is a player who can change everything."

Ibrahimovic will be the Ligue 1 club's third major signing of the summer, following the arrivals of former AC Milan teammate Thiago Silva and Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi.

PSG has paid a reported €20 million ($25 million) for Ibrahimovic, taking its summer spending on the trio to an estimated €100 million ($123 million).

The 30-year-old Swede is set to sign a three-year with PSG, which will reportedly see him earn €14 million ($17 million) net a year, €2 million more than he earns at Milan.

Ibrahimovic joined Milan from Barcelona on loan in 2010 and the move was made permanent the following season. Ibrahimovic was Serie A's top goalscorer last season — a feat he also achieved with Inter Milan in 2009.

The Sweden captain spent three seasons at Inter and two at Juventus, winning the Serie A title every year — although the two he won with Juventus were later revoked because of the match-fixing scandal.

Ibrahimovic also won the Dutch league twice with Ajax and the Spanish title with Barcelona before lifting another Serie A trophy with Milan.
