Ferry services resume after delays due to bad weather

The ferry services to Hulhumalé and Vilimalé from Malé City has resumed after being brought to a halt following the unusually rough seas severe weather.

The Hulhumalé ferry services were brought to a halt around 7:45 p.m. tonight and was resumed close to 9 p.m.

Vilimalé ferry was stopped only for a short while earlier in the evening.

A number of incidents have been taking place due to the severe weather of the South-West Monsoon in the Maldives. The National Meteorological Service issued a Yellow Alert today effective from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
