The regulation restricting delivery of gas and water in Male’ City to certain hours is on hold due to the overwhelming demand for mineral water in the city, reports Transport Authority.
The regulation has been put on hold indefinitely.
Chairman of Transport Authority, Mahudhee Imad reported to “Sun” this Monday that the authority was holding discussions to implement the regulation, and that the delay was due to the overwhelming demand for mineral water.
“They are saying the demand for water is very high. We are undecided due to high demand for water,” said Mahudhee.
The regulation bans transport of mineral water or gas in pickups or lorries except from 9 am to 10 am, 3 pm to 5 pm, and 6:30 pm to 6 am.
The purpose of the regulation is to stop congestion in the streets of Male’ City.
