Ali Hussain Didi resigns as Maldives Ambassador to the EU

Ambassador at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the European Union (EU), located in Belgium, Ali Hussain Didi has resigned from his post today.

An official of the President’s Office has confirmed that Ali Didi’s letter of resignation had been received by the President’s Office.

According to some media sources, Ali Didi resigned due to the challenges faced in fulfilling his responsibilities as Ambassador as a result of the current situation in the Maldives.

Ali Didi’s letter of resignation sent to President’s Office does not state a reason for his resignation.

Ali Didi has served the government for 29 years. He served as the Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka for three years, and as Maldivian Ambassador to the EU for 1.5 years.
