ADK: Aasandha not available before new contract

Largest private hospital in the Maldives, ADK Hospital has said that services under the the Aasandha scheme will be available after a new contract has been signed.

After the Aasandha company terminated their contracts with private medical centers, the government made the decision today to resume offering Aasandha health insurance services at private health facilities as before.

In a statement issued by ADK Hospital following the reinstatement of the Aasandha scheme, the hospital said that they have not notified Aasandha regarding the resuming of the service.

ADK Hospital said that their agreement with Aasandha was terminated in the circular issued on Saturday night and so the service is regrettably no longer available at the hospital.

The hospital said that the Aasandha services will resume as soon as a new contract has been signed.

Aasandha company initially announced at the time that it decided to stop Aasandha services to private health facilities because it felt that the private facilities currently provide services at a reasonable price.

State health facilities provide services under the Aasandha health insurance scheme free of charge, but the scheme only covers part of the cost in private health facilities.
