Additional arrest in connection with Yamin’s murder

An additional arrest has been made in connection with the murder to human rights activist and blogger Yamin Rasheed.

The additional suspect arrested is reportedly a Maldivian man in his early twenties. He was taken into custody last Tuesday night.

Some newspapers report the man is a civil servant. But from what “Sun” was able to find out, the man works in an own private business and hold no government position.

The first arrest in connection with Yamin’s murder came on April 29 with the arrest of 18-year-old Mohamed Dhifran from G. Dh. Gadhoo.

Dhifran’s home M. Afsana is located in the same neighborhood as M. Spatula – where Yamin, 29, was discovered stabbed in the early hours of April 23.

Yamin had died minutes after he was taken to the hospital.
