Police search for Jabir

Police have started looking for Abdulla Jabir, owner of Yacht Tours and former Kaashidhoo MP.

Police media official reported that officers went to Jabir’s residence – H. Thimaaveshi in Male’ City – this Thursday as part of their investigation into a case.

The specifics of the investigation have not been released.

Jabir was recently appointed advisor for former President Mohamed Nasheed and reportedly currently lives in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He openly declared his opposition to the current Maldivian government following the freezing of Yacht Tours’ bank accounts over failure to pay lease and fines for H. A. Alidhu and H. A. Binaafushi resort.
