Blogger Yamin dies from stab wounds

Social media activist and blogger, Yamin Rasheed, 29, was murdered in the pre-dawn hours of this Sunday.

Police reported a 29-year-old man was found with stab wounds at 2:59 am from the stairwell of a house located near Bisburu in Male’ City. And that the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after being taken to the hospital.

“Sun” has been informed the victim is social media activist and blogger, Yamin Rasheed from Chanbeyleege in Feydhoo, Addu City.

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s media official, Zeenath Ali Habeeb reported a young man with stab wounds was taken to the hospital at 3:15 am, and passed away at 3:48 am while receiving treatment for his injuries.

“He had extensive stab wounds to his head, neck and chest,” said Zeenath.

Yamin was found injured on the stairwell of M. Spatula.

Police issued a tweet this Sunday morning saying Yamin’s death was a homicide, and that the case was under investigation by Serious and Organized Crime Department.

Yamin was a close friend of journalist Ahmed Rilwan who went missing more than two years ago.
