Teacher arrested for suspected sexual assault of student

Authorities have arrested a foreign teacher working in a school in Dh. Atoll suspected of sexually assaulting a student at the school.

Police confirmed the teacher is a foreigner, and the victim of the sexual assault is a minor.

“Sun” was informed through sources the teacher is male and of Indian nationality. He was arrested on April 13.

Police said the teacher was remanded to three days in police custody after arrest, and that a decision on how to proceed with the case will be decided by the court or police this Sunday.
