ADK, MNU sign MoU to promote health education

ADK Hospital’s School of Health Science and Maldives National University (MNU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate and promote health education in Maldives.

The MoU was signed in a function held at MNU this Sunday morning by Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Favvaz Shareef and Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal.

Vice Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Favvaz noted that ADK Hospital – the country’s largest private hospital – was a pioneer in the country’s health field.

He said that through the MoU, both parties will research existing challenges in the health field in the country, as well as educate and train health officials.

The MoU was signed for a three-year period.

The first joint-event under the new partnership will be held is due to be held the coming weekend – a conference on spine.

ADK Hospital’s MD, Affaal noted the conference was to be the first of its kind to be held in the country with participation of both local and foreign medical doctors.

Affaal said a spinal surgery conducted at the ADK Hospital will be shown in real time during the conference.
