Nepal Tourism Board endorses SATA

South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has been endorsed by Nepal Tourism Board.

SATA is an international brand by Maldivian event organizers, Highrise.

The first SATA was held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel, Sri Lanka in December, 2016. The event had 270 nominations and saw some 18 top awards go to Maldivian travel and tourism businesses.

Highrise reports this year’s event will celebrate additional categories including adventure service, adventure hotel, classic hotels and more.

Commenting on Nepal Tourism Board’s endorsement of SATA, CEO of the board, Deepak Raj Joshi said Nepal wished to gain regional recognition for the adventure facilities available from the country. He expressed the hope to promote Nepal’s tourism industry in the South Asian region by joining onboard SATA.

SATA is thus far endorsed by:

1. Association of Tourism Trade Organization, India

2. Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Sri Lanka

3. Colombo Chamber of Commerce

4. Confederation of Associated Tour Operators

5. Association of Travel Agents, Maldives

6. Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM)

7. Association of Professionals in Tourism, India

8. Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)

9. Nepal Tourism Board

Founder and Managing Director of Highrise, Ismail reports though a date has not been finalized yet, the organization was working on holding SATA 2017 in October.
