United Nations has reiterated its call for all political stakeholders in Maldives to resolve political issues in the country through an inclusive dialogue process.
The appeal was made by Stephane Dujarric, Spokesperson for Secretary-General of UN Antonio Guterres, during his noon briefing last Friday.
“We reiterate our call for all political stakeholders to find common solutions through an inclusive dialogue process,” said Dujarric, in response to questions regarding the current political situation in Maldives.
Dujarric said the UN was closely monitoring the situation in Maldives.
He said the UN urged the government to “uphold necessary conditions for democracy, the rule of law and human rights, in line with the country’s constitution.”
