110 new police recruits have taken their vows today, in a special ceremony held at Iskandhar Building.
The ceremony was held on Thursday, and the new recruits read their vow before Justice Abdullah Areef, Supreme Court judge.
In his address at the ceremony, Justice Areef spoke about the importance of being true to the vows taken by the officers. He said that some positions in a State required the taking of vows by those who are recruited to those positions, and that it was extremely necessary to remain true to the vows. He also spoke about the consequences of acting in contravention to such oaths.
Ahmed Areef, Assistant Commissioner of Police, and Mohamed Saadiq, Assistant Commissioner of Police, also participated in the ceremony.
