Contact made with missing fishing boat “Oivaru”

Maldives National Defense Force reports that contact has been made with the fishing boat “Oivaru” which was reported missing to the authority.

Information officer at MNDF, Captain Azim Ibrahim said that contact was made with the boat at 8:07 am, this Tuesday.

The boat had been 12 miles off the coast of A. A. Thoddoo when contact was made.

Everyone onboard the boat is reported to be in good health.

The boat is headed towards Male’ City and is estimated to reach the island this Tuesday evening.

The boat had been fishing 130 miles off the coast of H. A. Makunudhoo and was reported missing by the owner last Monday after not being able to contact the boat since March 6.
