Ministry of Islamic Affairs has said that 19 mosques being built across the country would be completed by Ramadan.
According to the information shared with Sun Media by the Ministry, seven mosques were completed and officially opened last year including four mosques built by Saudi aid and three built from the state budget.
Islamic Ministry said that 19 mosques in 13 atolls will be completed this May including the Islamic Center being built in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo.
Some of the mosques to be completed in May was originally estimated to be completed in January 2017 but the deadline was extended upon the request from the contractors.
Islamic Ministry said that there are 11 mosques that have been completed last year and this year that has not yet been officially opened.
