Elderly tourist drowns in Hanimaadhoo

An elderly tourist spending his vacation at the Barefoot Eco Hotel in H. Dh. Hanimaadhoo has been reported dead after drowning.

The tourist who drowned was 85 years of age and from Italy.

Police media official said drowning of the tourist in Hanimaadhoo was reported to the authority on Sunday afternoon, and that the case was under investigation.

Meanwhile, authorities are looking for a 45-year-old tourist reported missing from a dive point off the coast of Fuvahmulah City on Sunday evening.

He was wearing a gray rashguard, a black mask and black fins when he went missing.
