No arrests yet in Hulhumale’ rape case

Police reports that no arrests have been made yet in connection to the young woman who was raped in Hulhumale’ last Thursday night.

Police said it was reported the rape took place at approximately 10:40 pm on Thursday. And that the case was under investigation.

The victim is a 27-year-old woman who lives in Vilimale’.

“Sun” has been informed that the woman was raped at the industrial area in Hulhumale’, and that only one rapist was involved.

Anyone convicted of rape faces 15 to 20 years in prison, and 20 to 25 years if the if the assault was perpetuated with the use of a deadly weapon.
