Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives reports no progress had been made in finding 18-year-old Maldivian student Mohamed Shammakh who went missing in neighboring Sri Lanka where he goes to school in.
Shammakh, who studies at American College of Higher Education in Dhehiwala has been missing since February 22.
Political Director of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heena Waleed reported this Sunday that neither the authorities, nor Shammakh’s family had been able to contact him since his disappearance.
The disappearance was brought to the attention of authorities including the Maldivian embassy in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan police on February 28.
Both the authorities are searching for Shammakh.
Shammakh’s family refused to talk to “Sun”. But has been quoted by another news agency saying he was seen in the house on the night of February 21, but had not been seen since the next morning.
