State Minister at the Health Ministry, Dunya Maumoon has said that women need to become economically sustained and not depend on anyone else.
During her visit to the women’s expo “Heevaagi Kanbalhun” organized with the initiation of First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim, Dunya said that the expo is an important initiative by the President and the First Lady.
The State Minister said that financial stability for women is something that the country needs to strengthen at the moment.
She said that such activities empower women to grow their on economic stability and help build their own futures and they don’t have to depend on someone else.
State Minister Dunya said that it is important to bringing the products by the Maldivian women to the market at good prices. She said that it is a good way to create income from home.
Dunya said that the expo has some products that the locals need but are not available.
She said that it is important to “reach” the resorts with the cultural designs on bags an clothes showcased at the exhibition.
The Heevaagi Kanbalun expo which began on Thursday would continue until tomorrow.
