High Court overturns stay order on Kaadedhdhoo airport repossession

High Court has overturned the stay order issued by Civil Court on repossession of G. Dh. Kaadedhdhoo airport; leased by the State to Villa Air.

High Court overturned the stay order this Thursday morning following appeal by the State.

High Court declared the stay order had no judicial or legal basis.

The stay order was issued by Civil Court on February 1 following request by Villa Air in its lawsuit against the State claiming its contract to run Kaadedhdhoo airport was terminated by

Regional Airports in violation of the terms of the contract.

Director-General of Regional Airports, Samy Ageel claims the contract was terminated after Villa Air violated civil aviation regulations.

Villa Air denies the claim.
