China’s national orchestra to play in Olympus on Feb 7

China’s national orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra will be playing at Olympus in Male’ City on Tuesday, February 7, to celebrate 45 years of bilateral ties between Maldives and China.

The concert is organized by Chinese embassy in Maldives and National Center for the Arts (NCA).

Minister of Youth and Sports, Iruthisham Adam commented during a press conference this Sunday regarding the concert that it was a great pleasure to be able to bring such an orchestra to Maldives and have the people of Maldives enjoy the talent of the Chinese people.

“We hope to be able to link Maldivian musicians and open up opportunities even to develop such musicians. We invite as many Maldivians as possible to the concert which will be held at Olympus on February 7,” said Iruthisham.

Chinese ambassador, Wang Fukang said that the China National Symphony Orchestra was the best in the country, and toured all over the world.

“This orchestra has close ties with other international orchestras. This coincides with Chinese Spring Festival. This concert is also a celebration of Chinese New Year. We hope the events for the day will be enjoyable to the people of Maldives,” said Wang.

26 musicians from the orchestra will be playing in the event.

The entrance fee is free. And the concert will start at 8:30 pm.
