14-year-old left braindead after accident in Kalaidhoo

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital reports the 14-year-old boy injured in a roadside accident in L. Kalaidhoo has been left braindead.

Director of IGMH’s Public Relations and Media, Ahmed Mausoon reported to “Sun” this Monday that the 14-year-old boy was being treated at IGMH, but doctors had lost all hope of recovery.

“Doctors said he has been left braindead due to injuries he sustained to his head. He is breathing through a ventilator. Even the doctors have lost all hope,” said Mausoom.

The 14-year-old was taken to IGMH at dawn, this Monday.

The accident took place at midnight, last Saturday, when the 14-year-old and two others went out for a ride on two motorcycles.

The two motorcycles crashed into each other and fell.

The case is being investigated by police.
