MNDF starts navigation course in atolls

Maldivian National Defense Force started its first navigation course in H. A. Ihavandhoo on Friday, January 27.

The Level II course is run by College of Defense and Security Studies of MNDF and the Coastguard.

The five-day course in Ihavandhoo was participated by 120 people from Ihavandhoo, Molhadhoo, Dhidhdhoo and Hoarafushi.

MNDP reported the 30-hour navigation course was up to the standards set by Transport Authority.

Subjects taught in the course includes navigation, safety, communication and regulation.

Participants for the course were chosen after a screening process involving tests. And will be lectured by Coastguard officers.

MNDP reported that the course will be run in more inlands based on the support it receives in Ihavandhoo.
