2 corpses found from sea

Police reports two corpses have been found from the sea this Saturday morning.

According to police, one of the corpses were found from near Baros Island Resort at approximately 7 am, the other corpse was found from near Thulhaagiri Island Resort at approximately 8 am.

The two corpses were found as Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) continued its search and rescue operation for two tourists reported missing from Meeru Island Resort and Spa (Meerufenfushi) after they were seen going in for a swim on Thursday, January 19.

“It looks likely the two corpses found at sea are those of the missing tourists,” said police media official.

However, this has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.
