Application for the 48 State housing units in Hulhumeedhoo, Addu City has been re-opened after amendments to regulation on flat issuance.
Application for the 48 housing units was originally opened on May 31, 2016, but a sufficient number of people failed to apply.
Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure issued an announcement this Thursday, January 19, stating the number of categories for flat application has been increased from two to three categories.
As per the amendment, 23 of the flats will be issued to people from Hulhumeedhoo who need housing. And the payment can be made over a longer period of time.
10 of the flats will be sold as real estate, and 15 of the flats will be issued under the added “C” category for people who wish to shift to Hulhumeedhoo. It also has a long term payment plan.
Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure reports the tenants need to pay MVR 25,000 in advance, and a monthly rent of MVR 3,000 for the flats.
Application forms will be available starting January 22 from the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure website, and Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure’s Land, Building and Municipal Services Department in Hulhumeedhoo.
The application forms need to be submitted to the Land, Building and Municipal Services Department in Hulhumeedhoo from January 22 to March 2.
