50 undocumented migrant workers arrested from Carnival

Authorities have detained 50 undocumented migrant workers from the cafes located in the Carnival area in Male’ City.

The illegal migrant workers were detained in an operation run by police and Maldives Immigration, which was launched at 9:30 am, this Tuesday.

Police reported that it had provided assistance in the operation run by Maldives Immigration, and helped detain undocumented migrant workers.

Police reported that those found to have their documents in order will be released after Immigration runs its checks.

Immigration was unavailable for comment regarding the operation.
