Civilian ordered to settle MVR 48,000 in debt to MP Jaufar

A civilian, Abdul Nasir Ahmed from M. Zenthram in Male’ City has been ordered to settle MVR 48,000 in debt to lawmaker Jaufar Dawood.

MVR 48,000 is part of the MVR 88,000 loaned by MP Jaufar to Abdul Nasir, which he failed to pay back.

Civil Court ruled that the Ungoofaaru MP Jaufar had stated he had received MVR 40,000, and ordered that Abdul Nasir pay half of the remaining MVR 48,000 by January 25, and the other half by February 20.

MP Jaufar is a senior official of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
