US citizen ordered to pay over USD 2,000 to law firm

Civil Court has ordered a US citizen to pay over USD 2,000 to a local law firm in payment of contracted legal assistance provided to the man.

Vakeelu Chambers LLP filed the lawsuit against US citizen John Charles Seyfert after he failed to pay USD 2,523 in payment for the legal assistance provided by the firm.

Civil Court issued its ruling in favor of the law firm on Sunday, December 25.

Civil Court ruled that evidence submitted to court proved Seyfert owed USD 2,523 to Vakeelu Chambers LLP for services rendered.

Seyfert was sentenced in absentia, and ordered to make the payment within one month.
