STO boat sinks with cargo

A boat from the State Trading Organization (STO) loaded with cargo has sunk at the T-jetty area last night.

An official from STO said that the boat named “Kahanbu” sank around 1 a.m. last night.

The official said that the boat had staple goods and other items as cargo when it sank but a large portion of the cargo was saved.

MNDF said that they are working resurface the boat but the work is being slowed down due to the damage bow. They said that the boat is not fully submerged since it has it a rock and is now currently balanced on the rock.
