Fazeel sent to India for further treatment

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hosiptal (IGMH) reports Abdull Fazeel, 32, from Sh. Feevah – injured after a fly-away flywheel from the engine of the dinghy tore open his stomach – has been transported to India for further treatment.

Fazeel was travelling from Sh. Feevah to Sh. Foakaidhoo on a dinghy when the outboard engine exploded and he was hit by a fly-away flywheel from the engine last Saturday, December 18.

Public Relations Director of IGMH, Ahmed Mausoom informed “Sun” he was sent to India for further treatment last Monday night.

IGMH reports that Fazeel received extensive injuries to his internal organs; including his kidney and his spine.

“He has been sent to India last night along with one of our doctors and nurses. Fazeel has extensive injuries to his internal organs and his spine,” said Mausoon.

Fazeel also underwent emergency surgery in Sh. Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital – where he was rushed to after the injuries.
