Ahmed Azif has withdrawn his name for the online slot for Maldives Media Council (MMC) membership, guaranteeing Mohamed Hamdhoon a seat.
Azif and Hamdhoon had both tied during the election held on Monday with 40 votes each, requiring a second round of voting.
Assistant Editor of Sun Online, Azif has withdrawn his name, paving way for Hamdhoon to claim the seat as the seventh member of MMC.
