“Sun” has been informed that Maldives Immigration has decided not to accept medical reports issued by ADK Hospital or AMDC needed for visas for foreigners living or working in Maldives.
“Sun” has been informed that Immigration made the decision last Monday. And that it was a step taken as part of an on-going investigation by the authority.
Controller of Immigration and Emigration, Mohamed Anwar spoke to “Sun” on Monday night and said that the authority had made the decision not to accept medical reports from two medical facilities as part of an investigation.
He gave no confirmation that the medical facilities in question are ADK Hospital and AMDC.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal said that the hospital had not been informed of such a decision, and that it was unaware of any such issues.
Operations Manager of AMDC, Soifa Ahmed said that the clinic hadn’t been informed of such a decision, but that they were aware Immigration rejected medical reports submitted by their patients to the authority.
Soifa said that Immigration made no official approach regarding any issues with medical reports.
Foreigners living or working in Maldives are required to submit medical reports to Immigration on an yearly basis.
